Essay 4 Update and Survey

For my survey, I'm conducting questions related to the information manipulation theory and how it covers the truth about the food consumed by college student. The information manipulation theory is the theory that false or untold information can lead to incorrect facts. Question conducted so far include "Are you aware of where most of the food you consume comes from?" and "Does the majority of food you eat lead to a healthy lifestyle" The manipulation of information by companies will hopefully be revealed through this survey.

  1. It seems to me that you have a very sufficient plan of action and that your survey will consume of questions specific enough to provide useful information in your paper. Your theory and your topic is a very important topic, especially to the people we're around on a daily basis and I think that you will find out a lot due to the research you do and your survey results.

  2. The survey you conducted correlates well with your theory. I believe that it shows if people are really conscious about what is in their food, where it comes from, and what are the animals being treated like. It also shows if there is a majoriy of people willing to make a change and stand against factory farming which has become a very sketchy industry in the 21st century. Only one problem, your answer for question 2 requires a number, and you are asking for a short answer!

  3. You seem to have a good survey. It is very well planed out and shows the qualities of a good survey. Some of the questions need revising but other than that, good job.

  4. I find your topic interesting, mainly because of my ties to the food industry. just some things you might want to clear up with your survey:

Its titled "Bullying Survey" but pertains to the food industry. Also questions two and three are a little confusing because:

    2. asks "Are you aware of where most of the meats come from that you consume? If so where?" but forces you to enter a numeric answer and will not allow an explanation.

    3. asks "Can you define what a factory farm is, if so what?" but it is a yes/no answer and will not let you explain your answer.

Just as a suggestion, I would not rely heavily on common knowledge as factual information towards factory farming. The public viewpoint has strongly been affected by factors and is not entirely correct.
